Lock API updates from changing carrier permissions

Updated over 3 weeks ago

Carrier Lock gives brokers more control over carrier data by preventing automatic updates from IDP or your TMS. When a carrier is locked, Parade will not overwrite any manually edited operational settings until the carrier is unlocked.

Why it Matters

Brokers often correct carrier details that differ from integration data. Carrier Lock ensures these manual changes stay in place, reducing rework and preventing unexpected updates.

How It Works

  • A Lock/Unlock toggle is now available on every carrier profile.

  • Locked carriers display a clear Locked badge showing who locked the carrier and when.

  • The Carriers tab includes a Locked Carriers filter to quickly review all locked profiles.

  • Unlocking must be done inside the carrier profile.

What’s Protected

When a carrier is locked, Parade will not update the following fields during automatic syncs:

  • Enable Bookings

  • Enabled for Parade

  • Enable Quotes

  • No Dispatch

These can still be edited manually by users with permission.

Who Can Use It

Users who have permission to access carrier settings can lock or unlock a carrier. Others can view lock status but cannot make changes. Admins can assign Lock permissions to specific roles as needed.

Common Use Cases

  • Preventing integration data from overriding broker-set values

  • Temporarily freezing updates during onboarding or data cleanup

  • Auditing locked carriers for accuracy and consistency
