Carrier Lock

Carrier Lock allows you to keep your manual carrier settings from being changed by system integrations until you choose to unlock them.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Carrier Lock lets you temporarily pause automatic updates from your integrations (IDP / TMS) for specific carriers. This ensures that any manual changes you make are never overwritten by integration data.

What is Carrier Lock?

Carrier Lock is a toggle on the carrier profile that prevents integration updates from changing certain operational settings. When a carrier is locked:

  • Automated syncs stop updating protected fields

  • Your manual changes remain in place

  • The carrier stays locked until a user unlocks it

This gives brokers full control during corrections, investigations, or onboarding work.

Why use Carrier Lock?

Brokers often need to fix or override inaccurate integration data. Carrier Lock helps by:

  1. Preventing unwanted automatic updates

  2. Reducing confusion or “why did my changes disappear?” issues

  3. Allowing brokers to confidently adjust operational settings

  4. Offering clear visibility into who locked/unlocked a carrier

How to Lock or Unlock a Carrier

  1. Open a carrier’s profile.

  2. Locate the Lock / Unlock toggle at the top of the page.

  3. Turn the toggle on to lock the carrier.

  4. Turn it off to restore automatic updates.

What does the lock protect?

When a carrier is locked, IDP/TMS syncs cannot modify the following fields:

  • enable_reservations

  • is_on_deck

  • enable_quotes

  • no_dispatch

You can still update these settings manually.

The carrier will remain locked until a user explicitly unlocks it.

Viewing Locked Carriers

You can review all locked carriers from the Carriers page:

  • Use the Locked filter to view all locked carriers

  • Combine it with Only my carriers to see the locked carriers you manage

To unlock a carrier, open the individual carrier profile—list rows are view-only for lock status.

Who can lock or unlock carriers?

  • Users with access to the carrier settings page can lock or unlock a carrier.

  • Users without this permission can still view lock status and audit information but cannot make changes.

Migration from old integration flags

Carriers previously “blocked” (carriers which "Enabled for Parade" status was manually enabled/disabled were locked out of updates for this status specifically) under the old integration system will automatically be migrated into the new Carrier Lock.

Teams can review these migrated carriers in the Locked filter and make updates as needed.

Admin Notes

  • Audit logs make it easy to see who locked or unlocked a carrier and when it happened.

  • Admins can grant the Lock permission to appropriate roles. We recommend limiting this to users who regularly manage carrier settings.
