Building Better Generative AI at Parade while Respecting your Data Privacy
At Parade we want you to be able to use our generative AI tools like CoDriver and feel confident that your business’ private data is being respected. This article provides a quick overview of how Parade’s systems interact with third-party generative AI and respect your privacy.
At Parade, we access AI models via third-party platforms with which we have enterprise agreements (e.g., calling Azure's OpenAI Service). We will only use a third-party platform if we have a signed enterprise agreement with it. The enterprise agreement must pass our third-party vendor requirements, which includes not training their models on any data that we provide.
We have a very strict set of rules of engagement with these platforms. We ask third-party platforms to extract load and carrier details from text/voice, but we do not provide access to any of our customers’ load or carrier details. We do not upload a customer’s carrier list or load list to a third-party platform. All load and carrier searching is done within Parade’s secure platform.
This may sound confusing so let us give two examples to explain. First, an example of how our AI systems are architected to keep a customer’s data secure.
Let’s say a carrier is talking to CoDriver. The system - via a third-party AI model API - will ask the carrier for their MC number. The third-party system will transcribe the MC number and send it to Parade’s secure platform. Within that platform, Parade will look up the carrier details and send back the carrier name to the third-party system. The third-party system will then confirm the carrier name with the carrier. The third-party system only receives the bare minimum of data, on an as-need basis, to complete the task-at-hand. The third-party has no way to query a Parade customer’s carrier base.
It’s the same for load and all other information stored by Parade. The bare minimum is shared with the third-party platform and there is no way for the third-party platform to query the information.
Here’s a second example of what Parade does NOT do - and will never do.
Theoretically, someone could build a service that sends all of a company’s carriers and carrier history to a third-party platform and asks a question like “who is the best carrier for going from Topeka to Omaha” or similar.
Parade would never do this because it would post all of a company’s carrier and carrier history to a third-party service. This would violate the privacy customers expect from us: your carriers and loads are your private information and are not to be posted to third-parties. Hence we do all carrier and load searches within our secure platform and share the bare minimum needed to complete a transaction with third-party platforms.
We take customer data privacy extremely seriously and believe that can be done while still enabling customers to have access to generative AI-powered solutions. If you have any further questions please reach out to us via Support.
