Introducing the Capacity Map: Visualizing Carrier Availability at a Glance

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Why Use the Capacity Map?

Make Faster, Smarter Decisions – Instantly see where capacity is tight or abundant.

Reduce Costs – Focus on lanes where you have strong carrier relationships and lower rates.

Expand Your Carrier Network – Identify regions where you need to source new carriers.

Improve Load Coverage – Proactively adjust your strategy based on real-time capacity trends.

Overview

The Capacity Map provides brokers with a real-time visual representation of available carrier capacity across different lanes. By instantly assessing load-to-truck ratios, brokers can make data-driven decisions—whether to use existing carriers for cost-effective bookings or source new carriers when capacity is tight.

How to Use the Capacity Map

1. Accessing the Map

• Navigate to the Capacity tab or click: https://app.parade.ai/capacity.

• The interactive map will display color-coded states indicating the carrier-to-load ratio in each region.

• Hover over any state to view its load-to-truck ratio.

2. Understanding the Color Key

Grey: No loads available in this state.

Light Blue: Low capacity - more loads than available trucks. You may need to source additional carriers and may see higher rates.

Dark Blue: High capacity - more available trucks than loads. You likely have strong carrier density and can secure bookings at better rates.

Darker blue shades indicate a stronger truck-to-load ratio, making it an ideal lane to bid on.

📌 Pro Tip: If a state is light blue, it may indicate that you need to work with new carriers or expand your network in that region.

3. Adjusting the View to Focus on Specific Lanes

🔹 Click on a State – This will filter the results to show loads originating from that state.

🔹 Select “To State” instead of “From State” – This allows you to analyze destination capacity, helping plan return loads efficiently.

📌 Example: Clicking on California will automatically filter loads picking up from California. If you switch to “To State,” it will filter loads delivering to California instead.
