You counter a carrier and they go quiet. Chasing them with a better number used to mean leaving Parade and picking it up in your inbox. You can now send another counter straight from the quote, whether the carrier answered or not. Every round goes out in the same email thread, and Parade keeps a running count so you always know where the negotiation stands.
What's New
Counter as many times as you need — The Counter button stays available on a CoDriver quote after you've already countered. Follow up with a new rate whenever you need to — you don't have to wait for the carrier to respond first.
A running count on the quote — The quote tells you how many times you've countered this carrier, along with the amount and timing of your last counter.
Numbered rounds — The counter modal opens as Re-counter Offer #2, and the send button matches. Your original counter is #1, so your first re-counter is #2.
Same thread, same contact — Re-counters go out in the existing email thread to the same carrier contact. The rate is the only thing that changes.
How It Works
Open the Quotes tab and find a quote you've already countered. The banner shows your counter history.
Click Counter.
Enter the New book now rate.
Optionally expand Review message to write the note that goes to the carrier.
Click Re-counter #2.
The counter email goes out in the same thread it always has. Once it sends, the banner updates to You have countered 2 times with your new rate.
Why It Matters
Chase a quiet carrier without leaving Parade — Following up with a better number no longer means switching to your inbox. Reps stay in the Quotes tab through the whole negotiation.
A rate history that's actually complete — Every round is logged on the quote, so the Quote Audit Log shows the real negotiation instead of stopping at your first counter.
Sharper Estimated Carrier Bid — Estimated Carrier Bid and lane bid history are built from logged quotes. The more rounds you capture, the better those numbers get.
Negotiation you can measure — Rounds per quote, movement per round, and time to agreement are now visible to your team instead of buried in individual inboxes.
Example
You counter a carrier at $1,000 and hear nothing back. Instead of chasing them from your inbox, you click Counter, enter $1,200, and send it as Re-counter #2. It lands in the same thread as your first counter, and the quote now reads You have countered 2 times.
Where to Find It
Quotes tab → any CoDriver quote you've already countered → Counter.
Good to Know
Your first counter is #1. The numbering covers every counter on the quote, so your first re-counter shows as #2.
Nothing else changes between rounds. Recipients, carrier contact, and the email template stay the same. Only the rate moves.
CoDriver quotes only. Counters you send to a carrier from your own email aren't affected.
On by default. Re-countering can be turned off in your quote configuration.
FAQ
Does my original counter count toward the number?
Yes. The original counter is #1, so the first re-counter you send is #2.
Does the carrier get a new email thread?
No. Every re-counter goes out in the existing thread with the same carrier contact.
Can I personalize each re-counter?
Yes. Expand Review message before sending and write your own note, the same way you would on a first counter.
Can we turn re-countering off?
Yes. It's on by default and can be disabled in your quote configuration. Reach out to Support or your CSM.
