Overview

Automate your easy, repeat freight to increase speed to book and lock down carriers in real time using AutoAssign.

AutoAssign allows you to automatically assign specific loads and send the rate confirmation(ratecon) to your most reliable and consistent carriers — carriers that accept loads on a specific lane 95-100% of the time.

How AutoAssign Works

Once a load is sent to Parade, Parade sends a Reservation to the Carrier and a trigger to the TMS to send out the Rate Confirmation — all automatically.

When to Use AutoAssign

  • Full end-to-end automation for contractual or handshake agreement freight!

  • Ideal for lanes with a high volume of loads where manual assignment would be time-consuming.

  • Useful for brokers who have preferred carriers for specific lanes that accept loads 95-100% of the time.

  • Beneficial for managed freight operations that handle large volumes of loads and require efficient processes.

How to Add an AutoAssign to a Lane

Learn how to add your first AutoAssign to a Lane by watching this how-to video or following the step-by-step instructions below.

1. Select Smart Lanes from the navigation menu

2. Search for the lane you’d like to add an auto assign to or select the lane from My Lanes

3. Click Add Cascade

4. You will be prompted to filter the cascade by specific criteria such as customer or revenue code. For simplicity, you can keep it general to apply to all freight. Click Continue to move on to the next step.

5. Select the carrier you want to work with for this lane. For instance, GLA Transit. Enter the agreed price for the load, e.g., $800.

6. Enter or select the email address of the contact person at the Carrier. Click on the Committed Volume button to enable the auto-assign option. This will expose a panel where you can trigger autoassign.

Select the option to autoassign. This means that the system will automatically send the ratecon and assign the load in the TMS.

Enter the email address of an internal contact at your brokerage who should be notified about the assignments.

7. Choose the start date for the auto-assign to be activated. Typically, this would be set to the current date. If applicable, set an end date for project-specific freight.

Click the "Activate Cascade" button to finalize the setup. The system will now auto-assign loads to the Carrier you added for the selected lane.

8. Follow the load activity channel to see the ratecon being sent and all related events.
